There are more than 200 staff members at Scott & White Community Hospital.

Specialized clinics and services include inpatient hospital care, surgery, diagnostic services, 24-hour emergency department. Scott & White has a variety of equipment and medical technology available to patients, including a Digital Fluoroscopy X-ray unit, CAT scans, MRI and bone density scanning, mammograms, nuclear medicine procedures, diagnostic ultrasound and vascular exams. There are cardiopulmonary and laboratory services and laparoscopic surgery available as well.

Emergency and inpatient services are provided around the clock.

The Scott and White Clinic is part of the Scott and White Hospital System based in Temple. It is a small practice that offers health care for the entire family.

The clinic is staffed by the following physicians:

• Philip Houck, M.D., clinical cardiology, intensive care cardiology, invasive cardiology

Specialized services include pediatrics, women’s health, cancer screening, orthopedic care, preventative health services, occupational medicine, office surgery, routine physicals and an on-site lab and X-ray facility.

Williamson County and Cities Health District

The Williamson County & Cities Health District provides public health services to Taylor and its surrounding communities. The agency was known as the Williamson County Health Department from its inception in 1943 until 1989, when it was organized as a health district. The Williamson County & Cities Health District resulted from a cooperative agreement among the governing bodies of the cities of Taylor, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Round Rock and the Williamson County Commissioners Court.

The WCCHD provides health services including immunizations, HIV testing and counseling, STD screening and treatment, TB testing and prescription discount cards. The district also oversees the Women, Infant and Children nutrition program and administers other community nutrition initiatives. The district also provides nutrition education, disease investigation and management, participates in emergency preparedness efforts and manages community health services like environmental inspections and food and restaurant inspections.

The Taylor Clinic offers the following public health services on a regular basis:

  • Immunization clinic: Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. by appointment only; and every second Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Screening and treatment for HIV and sexually transmitted disease (STD): Monday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Prenatal clinic: Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only.
  • WIC counseling: Tuesday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
