The Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, based in Georgetown but with deputies in the area, provides law enforcement in the area as the community has no police department.

The Coupland Volunteer Fire Department is a crew of volunteer firefighters, many of whom are paid firefighters in other cities, who offer their services to help the community. The department, which has its building at 410 FM 1466 east of town, and in the near future, the department hopes to have a new station to house all of its vehicles. Coupland firemen host a chili supper every year to raise funds and is constantly accepting donations to keep up its work.

The department is dispatched by Taylor’s fire department, and emergency medical services are provided by Williamson County EMS. The fire department is also dispatched in all EMS cases to provide additional manpower if needed. Precinct 4 Constable Marty Ruble, and his staff serve warrants to most of Eastern Williamson County, including Coupland. Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Judy Hobbs handles court cases.
